Jay D. Koehn was selected as a shareholder of McGrath North effective January 1, 2022.
Overview
As a shareholder in McGrath North’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group, Jay’s experience focuses on commercial and complex litigation. He works closely with clients on all phases of litigation and has been involved in cases in state and federal courts across the Midwest. “My two years clerking with the firm during law school gave me an invaluable jumpstart on developing my core skills,” Jay shared.
Jay earned his law degree from Creighton University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and his bachelor’s degree from Creighton as well. During law school, because of his focused interest in litigation, he was actively involved in moot court. Jay’s hard work and passion resulted in him winning Best Oral Advocate, First Place Team, and Runner-up Best Brief in his region of the National Moot Court Competition. Jay was also selected as the prestigious Hon. Lyle E. Strom Scholar in Trial Advocacy in his final year of law school.
Outside the Firm
Jay and his wife, an elementary school art teacher, focus on raising their two children. Jay and his wife enthusiastically serve on the board of directors for the non-profit The Furniture Project – Omaha. Jay also enjoys being active in his church and school community at St. Cecilia’s Cathedral.
