The goal of Steve’s practice is twofold: First, to provide preventative advice to clients to help them avoid situations in the workplace which might lead to claims of employment-related discrimination or union organizational activity; second, when claims of discrimination have been made, to help clients either avoid liability or minimize any damages associated with such claims. Those goals necessarily involve regularly working with clients to identify issues and helping resolve those issues. Finally, if there has been an action by a governmental agency, Steve’s efforts are directed at resolving the matter on terms favorable to the client or providing a vigorous defense.
When dealing with employment or immigration issues, Steve listens closely to his client’s needs and learns their organizational culture. This background helps him recommend an appropriate course of action when it comes to administering discipline, making and revising policy, responding to employment issues including, but not limited to, discrimination claims, union-related issues, or responding to inquiries by governmental agencies. Knowledge of the client’s business can also help Steve deal with governmental agencies when it comes to employment, workplace safety and immigration issues. Steve’s clients are comfortable with his knowledge, practical judgment and experience.
