“I’m there for my clients, no matter how big or small the request.”
Many of Denise’s clients face the challenge of adopting a new trademark that doesn’t infringe on the trademark rights of others, serves to identify the client as the source of the goods or services to be offered under a mark, and yet conveys the desired message to the client’s customers. Her more than twenty years of experience helps her identify, find, register, license, protect and enforce her clients’ trademarks in the United States and around the world. She performs comprehensive reviews of clients’ trademark and service mark portfolios to analyze whether appropriate and effective actions have been taken to protect, maintain and manage clients’ registered and common law trademarks. She has also filed and successfully registered clients’ trademark rights on an international basis under the Madrid Protocol and also has experience in conducting trademark due diligence in client divestitures, mergers and acquisitions. Denise also has been involved in domain name dispute resolution proceedings, in which she has successfully represented clients’ interests in their domain names.
For Denise, working with energetic, creative clients who have developed a brand new product or service is part of the charm of trademark law. From the beginning of the process to the end, Denise listens to her clients and doles out advice that will always be in her clients’ best interests. Her clients are diverse in size and operate in a wide range of fields. Her clients include a nationally known food company, local banks and financial institutions, restaurants, photographers, advertising agencies, beauty supply companies, health care providers, fitness clubs, publishing companies and manufacturers.
Denise also helps her clients protect their copyright rights in computer software, artwork, photographs, architectural works, books, games, and other creative works. She not only registers clients’ copyright rights with the U.S. Copyright Office, she also negotiates and drafts copyright license and transfer agreements for her clients.
“Always seek the advice of an experienced and knowledgeable trademark attorney because that knowledge will save time and money in the long run.”
