Women's History Month

McGrath North is proud of its efforts to remove the barriers for women in the legal profession. In 1970, women made up only 4 percent of the entire legal profession and no woman had yet served on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Today, women are an essential part of our law firm with 75% of all shareholders and 65% of all lawyers 40 and under being women, and almost 55% of all associates are women. Further, women also play critical leadership roles across our firm:

  • 2 women on the Board of Directors
  • 3 serving as Practice Group Leaders
  • 2 serving as chair of key standing committees
  • 3 of the 4 senior operational leaders of the firm are women (finance, administration and marketing)

McGrath North is committed to continue its focus on providing more opportunities to lawyers from all backgrounds. In its guiding principles outlined in its “Our Commitments,” the firm declares:

“We will keep working hard to develop our culture to value differences, and to enthusiastically support team members from diverse backgrounds with varied experiences, so we can be more creative, more connective and more effective professionals.”

This month we honor all our strong, dedicated female lawyers, paralegals, law clerks and staff who advocate each day to achieve success for our clients.
