ATTORNEY SPOTLIGHT: Matthew G. Munro

Matthew G. Munro is a member of McGrath North’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group, its Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors Rights practice group, and the firm’s Recruiting Committee.

Matt’s Work

Matt’s practice focuses on all aspects of commercial litigation, working with clients through various stages of litigation, including assessment & strategy development, pleadings, discovery, summary judgment, trial and when necessary, appeal. His litigation work also includes disputes involving foreclosures, creditors’ rights, and intellectual property protections. As a result of this experience, Matt’s practice is expanding beyond commercial litigation and into regulatory advocacy in the areas of banking and corporate compliance.

Over his eight years at the firm (which includes his time as a law clerk), Matt has worked with clients across a range of industries including in part manufacturing, energy, agriculture, and insurance. Business clients, both large and small, benefit from his ability to effectively analyze their disputes both intellectually and with an eye of practicality, as he chooses the best course of action and moves it forward to achieve success for the client.

Matt received his undergraduate degree in business administration, and his law degree from Notre Dame Law School. While in law school, he targeted opportunities to prepare him for his commercial litigation practice, including concentrating on commercial law areas and participation on the Notre Dame Law School Trial Team. Matt is admitted to practice in both Nebraska and Iowa, the federal court of Nebraska, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and has helped handle cases throughout the Midwest.

Outside the Firm

Matt is an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoys following all of their sports. He also carves out time to keep up his competitive golf game.

In addition, Matt is a newlywed! He and his wife, Chloe, were married last October in Omaha at St. John’s Church where they remain active parishioners.
