McGrath North, our attorneys and staff have a long tradition of serving our area’s educational institutions, professional and trade associations and charitable organizations.

Education and Development:  McGrath North is dedicated to developing the legal professionals and leaders of the future.  We have funded a scholarship program and a legal research center at the Creighton University School of Law, and a scholarship fund at the University of Nebraska.  We have also endowed the McGrath North Mullin & Kratz Endowed Chair in Business Law at the Creighton University School of Law.  Our attorneys have also served as adjunct professors at Creighton University and the Creighton University School of Law, teaching multiple courses in various subject areas.

Local Chambers of Commerce:
Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce: Every year for the past 20 years, McGrath North has been a major contributor to the economic development campaign of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce.  These five year initiatives are focused on economic development  that help drive the growth of the region’s strong, diverse economy and ensure prosperity for all. Prosper Omaha is the Chambers new campaign and like the GO! campaign, currently funding the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership, and Target Omaha before that, Prosper Omaha will continue this Chamber tradition.  McGrath North also recognizes that communities grow and prosper with effective leaders and supports the Chambers leadership development efforts with attorneys participating in Leadership Omaha.  Past McGrath North attorneys have been Kris Covi (Class of 31), Tom Worthington (Class of 34) and Abbey Moland (Class of 36).  Leadership Omaha strengthens and develops future leaders and McGrath North applauds those who have made this commitment to serve the community.
Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce: McGrath North also supports the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce during their TRC Campaign.  The firm supports the growth and development of the Council Bluffs community through the Pottawattamie County Growth Alliance. The Alliance coordinates all economic development efforts in the Council Bluffs area with the goal of helping existing business thrive and expand while attracting diverse new enterprises.
Bellevue Chamber of Commerce:  Several McGrath North attorneys call Bellevue home and McGrath North has been an active member of the Bellevue Chamber for several years. One way McGrath North contributes to growth and development in the Bellevue area is through sponsorships of Chamber events and, in particular, through support of, and participation in, the Leadership Bellevue program. Designed to identify those in the community who have demonstrated the ability and desire to serve in leadership positions in the future, Leadership Bellevue prepares class members for effective service as community leaders.

Professional and Trade Associations:  Our attorneys regularly organize and teach continuing education courses for attorneys and other professionals (including, by way of example, state and local Bar Associations, the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Nebraska Society of CPAs, the Great Plains Federal Tax Institute and third party continuing legal education providers).  The McGrath North attorneys have also taken leadership roles in organizations dedicated to our practice areas (such as the Association for Corporate Growth) and local bar associations (including the Omaha Bar Association and the Nebraska Bar Association).

Charitable Organizations: Through our individual and office-based charitable giving and community service we demonstrate that the McGrath North name stands for more than superior legal services. Our commitment to give back to our communities is a testament to the firm’s culture and core values.

McGrath North encourages its attorneys and staff members to get involved with charitable organizations that align with their individual passions.  Many of our attorneys have taken leadership roles on governing boards and committees to support the area’s many non-profit and charitable organizations.
