William J. Birkel

Attorney

Bill has accumulated over thirty years of trial experience litigating matters in Nebraska and Iowa and has tried cases in both jurisdictions as well as arguing appeals in both Nebraska’s Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. His practice is focused on litigated insurance matters and he has successfully defended individuals, medical professionals, corporations and insurance brokers and carriers. Clients rely on his litigation experience in defending a wide variety of cases including personal injury, property/casualty claims, construction defects, workers' compensation, and professional negligence.


Bill graduated from Creighton’s Law School in 1990. He has served as the President of the Omaha Bar Association and was a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s House of Delegates for eight years. For six years he has been listed in Great Plains “Super Lawyers” and for the last seven years in “Best Lawyers in America."  He has served as member of the Board of Directors for the Stephen Center since 2019 and currently is a member of the Executive Council as the Secretary.
